SAPIENS supports transparent, ethical scientific communication. The following principles apply to research, manuscript, illustration, and animation engagements unless a signed agreement provides more specific terms.
Contributors and Authorship
Payment for services does not determine authorship. Authorship should reflect substantial intellectual contribution, participation in drafting or critical revision, approval of the final work, and accountability for the work, consistent with the applicable journal’s policies. Editing, formatting, administrative support, or payment alone may warrant acknowledgment rather than authorship. SAPIENS may recommend recognition of Dr. Mauricio Perez or another contributor when the actual contribution supports it, but authorship is never guaranteed or mandatory solely because services were purchased.
Client and Author Responsibility
Authors, investigators, clients, and sponsors remain responsible for data accuracy, source verification, statistical integrity, originality, plagiarism screening, ethical approval, trial registration, patient consent, image permissions, conflict-of-interest disclosure, and compliance with journal and institutional policies.
AI-Assisted Content
SAPIENS may use AI-assisted tools to support language editing, brainstorming, literature organization, illustration, animation, or other defined tasks. AI tools are not authors and cannot assume responsibility for scientific integrity. Human contributors must verify accuracy, citations, originality, permissions, and absence of misleading or fabricated content. AI use should be disclosed to journals, institutions, clients, or audiences when required or materially relevant.
Confidentiality and AI Systems
Do not provide identifiable patient information, protected health information, unpublished confidential manuscripts, proprietary device details, or trade secrets for processing in public AI systems. SAPIENS will use project materials only as authorized under the applicable agreement and will seek explicit permission before any workflow that materially changes the confidentiality risk.
Rights and Permissions
Clients represent that they own or are authorized to use all submitted text, images, datasets, device materials, and other content. Clients must obtain all patient releases, model releases, copyrights, licenses, ethics approvals, and institutional permissions required for the intended use.
Portfolio and Publicity
SAPIENS may display, publish, or identify commissioned work, client names, testimonials, manuscripts, images, devices, or techniques only after obtaining written authorization.
Scientific Integrity
SAPIENS may decline, suspend, or terminate work involving suspected data fabrication, image manipulation that misrepresents results, plagiarism, undisclosed conflicts, unethical research, unlawful conduct, or failure to obtain necessary permissions.
Voluntary Financial Contributions
Payments made through a PayPal support button are voluntary payments to SAPIENS J&B LLC, a for-profit company. They are not charitable contributions, are not represented as tax deductible, and do not create ownership, equity, authorship, governance rights, guaranteed services, or influence over scientific conclusions. PayPal’s separate terms and privacy practices apply.
Conflicts and Sponsorship
Financial support, device-company relationships, consulting arrangements, sponsored content, and relevant nonfinancial relationships should be disclosed in accordance with applicable journal, meeting, institutional, and regulatory standards.
